« Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus » Romans 15.5
What a comfort to know that our God is the God of patience and consolation. Moreover he calls us to live in according to love: to pray for our brothers, and surround them in difficult times. We feel sorry when we see brothers in Christ going through unemployment, disease or other difficult material worries here. But the Lord stays his children’s comforter whatever the circumstances. He grants his blessing towards all that trust in him. We have started back our service with a renewed zeal, but we have to remain in a listening behavior to stay in His plans.
Our stay in « La Réunion »
We have had one month in Saint Denis de “La Réunion” to have some health controls. Everything was well. We have enjoyed a very good fellowship with the brothers & sisters of the evangelical church which received us. We thank God for that good renewing time. Fiderana could have an ear operation. He will need to meet again with the ENT surgeon in February because he had some problems with his two eardrums, which were damaged because of numerous otitis. He could have a language assessment and enjoyed some times of relearning. The ENT specialist has given us some exercices to keep doing to Fiderana as we live here in Antsirabe. We feel like he grows well & understands the aim of making some improvements in speaking. As far as Jeremy is concerned, he has lived some deeply spiritual moments with God during that time. He is fond of praising the Lord out of singing and praying to express his faith. He remarks how he can be weak & easy to be entasked by sin, if he does not rely on God. Zacharie did like the outdoor games that we found in town – public parks. He is a little happy boy that sings & plays “seriously” all day long.
Come back to Antsirabe
Our 3 boys have come back to the French school. Jeremy is in “CM2”, Fiderana-Matthew is in “CE1” & Zachary starts nursery school. We are all so happy to share lunchtime together at home. Unfortunately we did not have the full support from the French state, so we still have to pay 35% of the fees, which is a big amount of money for us, that is about 100 € each month.
Alex has started to teach a group of teenager held by pastor Mahefa & his wife, Marthe. They are from CEIM (Malagasy Independent Evangelical Community). And he still waits to get involved in the Baptist Youth group- because it has not started yet.
This year, we think of changing a bit the Young Couple Teaching and the kid’s Club. We think of having special spiritual time during week-ends & small camps instead of weekly meetings.
Hasy had some troubles due to a sinusitis 2 weeks ago, so she saw a GP. He also diagnosed cervical and lumbar problems plus a facial paralysis. That is a neurological problem,, which is due to a nig tiredness. Hopefully she can enjoy a good physiotherapist ‘s care. She plans to have some rest for some time. May the Lord give her the aptitude to deal her time and choose her activities with wisdom.
We finish this letter as we pray that our Lord & Saviour, Jesus-Christ, that we all serve in the place he has chosen for us, bless you.
